For Robert “Bob” Griggs, those words are more than just a statement—they represent a way of life and a philosophy of doing business that has enabled him to build one of the premier manufactured housing retailers in the Northeast.

From humble beginnings to a successful enterprise spanning nearly 50 years and three generations, Concord Home Sales today offers high-quality manufactured homes to everyone from young couples just starting out to those looking to downsize—and everyone in between. In 1972, Bob Griggs and his brothers purchased land in Pittsfield, New Hampshire, where they developed their first community—Griggs Mobile Home Park. The community still proudly carries the family name today. After completing development, residents began purchasing homes from retailers located south of Concord. As a young entrepreneur, Bob quickly realized he was missing out on an opportunity to provide quality homes at affordable prices to future community members. This realization marked a turning point and launched his 40+ year journey partnering with leading builders in the manufactured housing industry.

In 1978, building on the success of his first project, Bob purchased 40 acres in Epsom, New Hampshire, and began developing his next community—Sheltering Pines. This beautiful 50-unit development, located off Route 28 South, was the first time Bob’s three children became involved in the business. Robert Jr., Stacie, and Rick weren’t even old enough to drive but could often be found at the construction site after school. Later on, it wasn’t unusual to see one of them operating large machinery—barely tall enough to climb in, let alone operate it.

Nearly five decades later, Bob’s children remain active in the family-owned business, which has grown to include not only manufactured home retail but also the ownership and management of 13 home communities across New Hampshire and Maine.
